Through participation in Bisto Proyekto and Transparency and Accountability through People’s Action (TAPAT), SNPP volunteers have been monitoring government infrastructure projects to promote good governance and combat corruption. SNPP volunteers have monitored the DPWH regional offices and Local Government Unit meetings and reported feedback on the condition of government-funded projects through digital tools. SNPP volunteers have also engaged in inspection training and on-site inspections of infrastructure projects in the cities of Catbalogan (Samar), Mandaluyong, Manila, Parañaque, and the provinces of Bulacan, Cebu, and Davao del Sur.
The importance of citizen monitoring was highlighted by SNPP’s Bisto Proyekto launch event in Mandue, Cebu, on May 19th, 2026. The event featured local organizations, representatives of the City Engineering Offices of Mandaue and Cebu City, and Mandeuenos sharing their stories of being submerged in the floods of September 2025. The event provided a crucial reminder of the consequences of corruption in flood control projects and the value of citizen accountability.
